National Gay Flag Football League

Already tired of the cold or snow? Looking for a fun, relaxing, football-filled weekend in the beautiful desert?

Please join us for the second annual Duel in the Desert, a fun gay flag football tournament. The event will again be in Palm Springs, Calif., on the weekend before the Super Bowl, Jan. 28-29 (with games on the 29th).

The tournament is meant to be a fun, social event. Everyone is mixed up and put on different teams, so y…ou will play on a team with people from Phoenix, San Diego, Los Angeles, and other cities that decide to attend. Though we do keep scores of the games, no “tournament champion” is crowned. We are expecting to have six teams, and each team will play three games; Games are shortened, so you can play three games in about four hours.

The Greater Philadelphia Flag Football League has joined the growing movement by producing a video for the ‘It Gets Better’ project. The video features various players from the league.

Derek Moore of Total Sports Mag was at the Gay Bowl talking to everyone he could get a camera in front of. He produced some great recaps of key playoff games, including the semifinals and championship game. Check them out here and after the jump
