Cleveland football tournament in April
Cleveland will be hosting its first in a series of annual multi-sport tournaments leading up to the Gay Games Cleveland in 2014. Men’s and Women’s Flag Football will be one of the sports in the Gay Games Cleveland and part of the annual Synergy Fest, held this year April 23 – 25, 2010. The tournament is being organized by the Cleveland Rockers gay flag football team, which will be joining the NGFFL this year.
The tournament is open to NGFFL member cities’ tournament teams and their local league teams, and any prospective city looking to form a GLBT team. Flag Football will be held at Cleveland State University’s Krenzler Field, CSU’s Soccer and Multi-purpose facility with inflatable dome. Men’s flag football will follow NGFFL rules. Team registration is Friday, April 23rd, from 6 PM- 10 PM. Pool play is Saturday, April 24th from 9 AM – 6 PM. Elimination play Sunday, April 25th starts at 9 AM. The Awards Ceremony begins at 5 PM. The top 2 teams and one MVP from each team will be recognized
Registration is now open and done through the Synergy Fest website per individual player registration. Since the tournament is indoors the number of spaces for teams is limited and on a first-come basis. The size of the Men’s and Women’s divisions are based on total entrants on first-come basis. The 7th player registration of a team will hold that team’s spot. The tournament’s host hotel is The Renaissance Downtown Cleveland. If you have any specific questions feel free to contact me.
