Board minutes: Seattle, Jacksonville join NGFFL
The NGFFL Board held its April call and voted to grand Seattle and Jacksonville new PAUGAs.
Rules
Recap of rules changes
All four rules changes were adopted. You can find more information on those rules here.
Chicago tournament & new rules
We are trying to work with the Chicago Pride Bowl to use our newly adopted rules, particularly the new rush rule. We have discussed making the tournament count toward the points needed for a second team (presently it does not because of different rules). We will share information as we get it.
PAUGAs & new cities
Seattle, Jax & Tyler submissions
The board has voted unanimously to make Seattle and Jacksonville new PAUGAs. Seattleās encompasses the state of Washington; Jacksonville covers the northern half of Florida.
The board voted unanimously to reject splitting the Northeast Texas PAUGA into two PAUGAs. Various reasons played a factor, including:
The size of Tyler, Texas. It is a city of 80k people, and we did not feel it was appropriate to give a team representing a city of that size an automatic annual bid when other large cities and leagues, like New York and Chicago, represent millions of people and have leagues of 20+ teams.
The regular expansion and contraction of the PAUGA. The Dallas/Texas/NE Texas PAUGA has expanded and contracted over the years with no regularity. We felt this showed the instability of the teams in the area and we are wary of guaranteeing two teams from that area.
Schedule for submission of new cities and second team bids
Bids for new cities for Gay Bowl X are due June 1.

Finances update
Peter Goulet has stepped down as NGFFL Treasurer. In the interim, David Donohue is getting a new bank account for the NGFFL and collecting dues. You can contact David for more info at donohue76@hotmail.com.
Board member conference call attendance
Jered Becker missed his second conference call this year without warning. In response, the Board passed a new policy that gives the Board the authority to remove a Board member if he or she misses without warning three Board conference calls during their term.
