The NGGFL, in conjunction with the Phoenix Hellraisers, are proud to announce the formation of the NGFFL Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame seeks to tell the story of the history of the NGFFL and recognize those individuals who have contributed in an overwhelming way to the history of gay football.
You can download the application for the NGFFL Hall Of Fame Class of 2010 here. Any player, referee, captain, coach or contributor to the NGFFL or local leagues is eligible for nomination. The minimum length of participation is seven years, so anyone whose participation with the NGFFL or Gay Bowl began in 2003 or earlier is eligible for this year’s class.
The deadlines for this year’s nomination process are as follows:
Thursday, June 17 – All nominations in to David Donohue, head of the HOF Committee.
Thursday, July 1 – All nominations to the Tier 1 voters.
Wednesday, July 7 – Conference call with the Tier 1 voters on the nominations and open discussion.
Thursday, July 8 – Final votes to David Donohue (Nominee’s must receive 80% approval of Tier 1)
Friday, July 11 - Email to the qualifying leagues informing them of the conference call to discuss final nominees.
Wednesday, August 11 – NGFFL conference call for Tier 2 voters to discuss finalists.
Wednesday, August 25 – All votes from the league must be given to David Donohue. (Nominee’s must receive 60% approval from Tier 2)
Anyone meeting all qualifications and passing both voting tiers will be formally inducted into the Hall of Fame at Gay Bowl X in Phoenix this October.
If you have any questions, please send them to David Donohue at email@example.com.
Thank you for your thoughtful consideration to this hallowed honor.
